The length of working time for teaching staff is 36 hours per week, for other categories — 40 hours per week.

The start and end time of the working day for employees with a five-day working week is set from 8.30 to 17.00, lunch break from 12.00 to 12.30.

The duration of an academic hour is 45 minutes. After an academic hour of classes, a break is set for 5 minutes, after two academic hours of classes — 10 minutes. During the school day — a lunch break of at least 30 minutes. If necessary, it is allowed to combine 2 academic hours of classes into one lesson lasting 1 hour 25 minutes, with a break of 15 minutes.

Education at the university is conducted in two shifts.

First shift:

1 period 8.00-9.45, 8.50-9.35 break 10 min.

2 period 9.45-10.30, 10.35-11.20 break 30 min.

3rd period 11.50-12.35, 12.40-13.25 break 10 min.

Second shift:

4 period 13.35-14.20, 14.25-15.10 break 10 min.

Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Russia for training highly skilled specialists for food and chemical industries with a wide range of programmes for foreign students.

The university is located in Voronezh, a city with more than 1 million inhabitants. It is situated 500 km from Moscow, the capital of Russia.

Voronezh is the administrative centre and the capital of Black-soil Region, one of the largest economic and densely populated regions of Russia.

The city lies on the banks of the Voronezh reservoir which makes it especially beautiful.

There is a wide variety of cultural and sports events that are held in Voronezh. It is definitely a cultural centre of the region, considering a great number of theatres, concert halls, museums, libraries, cinemas and parks.

Voronezh is a multinational and multiconfessional city. The majority of the population is Russian people who are famous for their compassion, responsibility, solidarity and willingness to help.

For many generations Russian people have been tolerant and broadminded.

The university with its campus located in the city centre is housed in 3 large buildings.

About 47 000 students have graduated from Voronezh state university of Engineering technologies since it was founded, including 4000 foreign students. Today the university offers a wide range of qualifications and training programmes.

The main areas of activity are food processing technologies from plant and animal raw materials, automation of technological and production processes, biotechnology, bioinformatics, information systems and technologies, chemical technology, environmental protection and sustainable use of natural resources. Economics, management and service technologies provide cross-disciplinary approach.

The University is alma mater for a large number of students worldwide. Three quarter of its students come from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Foreign students have an opportunity to study Russian in small language groups and take entrance exams in order to enter the university.

There are about 8000 students doing university courses now.

Our main objective is to achieve the highest level of professional training for graduates of all degree levels. Today all required study facilities are available for our students. All the university campus buildings are easy to get to.

A great number of laboratories, a library containing more than a million scientific works, article thesis, magazines, catalogues, databases as well as research centres and enterprises where students undertake internships starting from the very first term provide great potential for studying.

Every student can do research and present the results of the work at student scientific conferences along with publishing the articles.

The student life is interesting and diverse. Students can take part in different events, festivals and competitions. Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies is a member of long-term international collaboration programmes. It has academic contacts with higher educational establishments abroad.
